Quick History

Back in the day, when the internet was still blossoming and social media was gaining traction, Tinypic emerged as a beloved image hosting service. It was like a magical land where people could upload and share their favorite pictures with friends and family.

Tinypic quickly became a go-to platform for bloggers, forum enthusiasts, and anyone who wanted to easily share images online. It was launched in 2004 and gained immense popularity for its simplicity and user-friendly interface. People loved how they could upload their photos in a snap and then share them across various platforms, spreading joy and memories with just a click. Tinypic truly captured the hearts of millions and left a lasting impression on the online community.

However, as time went on, new players emerged in the market offering more advanced features and improved user experiences. In July 2019, a message appeared on the homepage announcing that the service would be shutting down in September of that same year due to decreasing advertising revenues which had made it impractical to continue with a free service.

So, what happened to all the images on Tinypic after the shut down? It's an interesting story! Shortly before the shutdown, Tinypic announced that they were partnering with one of the top online photo storage leaders in the field, Photobucket. This partnership ensured that all the images hosted on Tinypic would be transferred and saved on Photobucket's photo storage and video storage platform. However, for people who missed the announcement, or didn't take action, their images were no longer available on Tinypic.

Photobucket To The Rescue

Turns out Photobucket photo storage and video storage cloud services are a fantastic alternative to Tinypic. First off, Photobucket offers a user-friendly interface that makes it super easy to upload, organize, and share your photos on both iOS and Android devices with friends, family, or even the entire online community.

The cloud backup platform provides several storage plans giving you ample storage space for your photos and videos, so you can store and access your cherished memories without worrying about running out of room. Plus, Photobucket gives you the option to create personalized albums, add tags and filters, and organize your photos into neat categories, making it a breeze to navigate through your galleries. And all the photos and videos uploaded to Photobucket are stored compression-free, guaranteed.

Another cool thing about Photobucket is that it allows you to directly embed your photos into websites, blogs, or forums, so you can effortlessly showcase your pictures to the world. Today, the Photobucket online cloud storage platform safeguards 17 billion photos and videos for over 70 million customers worldwide, while maintaining a carbon-neutral footprint.
