Quick History

Back in the day, when the internet was still blossoming and social media was gaining traction, Tinypic emerged as a beloved image hosting service. It was like a magical land where people could upload and share their favorite pictures with friends and family.

Tinypic quickly became a go-to platform for bloggers, forum enthusiasts, and anyone who wanted to easily share images online. It was launched in 2004 and gained immense popularity for its simplicity and user-friendly interface. People loved how they could upload their photos in a snap and then share them across various platforms, spreading joy and memories with just a click. Tinypic truly captured the hearts of millions and left a lasting impression on the online community.

However, as time went on, new players emerged in the market offering more advanced features and improved user experiences. In July 2019, a message appeared on the homepage announcing that the service would be shutting down in September of that same year due to decreasing advertising revenues which had made it impractical to continue with a free service.

So, what happened to all the images on Tinypic after the shut down? It's an interesting story! Shortly before the shutdown, Tinypic announced that they were partnering with one of the top online photo storage leaders in the field, Photobucket. This partnership ensured that all the images hosted on Tinypic would be transferred and saved on Photobucket's photo storage and video storage platform. However, for people who missed the announcement, or didn't take action, their images were no longer available on Tinypic.
